THE FACT FINDERS FACTORY NETWORK
WHO CHECKS THE FACT CHECKERS? The people who claim they can sort truth from fiction spent years lying despite the crippling obvious.
What is more baffling is why so many people went along with it for so long.
PolitiFact is a project of the Poynter Institute that oversees the largest network of fact-checkers globally, the International Fact-Checking Network (IFCN). IFCN receives its primary funding from Facebook, as well as from the Craig Newmark Foundation, the Koch Foundation, the Knight Foundation, the Omidyar Network, the National Endowment for Democracy, Microsoft, and the Washington Post. This organization is not a small, marginal "fact-checking" group; rather, it is a prominent player in the field.
